They compress to fit anywhere, I use them to pad the inside of my MSR cookware, where I keep the fuel can. They handle heat (boiled water) well and stay cool to the touch. I have a red set & a orange set- the orange is more heavy duty. The red ones are more pliable and seem thinner. I would buy more if I needed to, but these are all we need.
